How It Started

Mercedes was born at South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach, now the home to Beach Cities Health District. She grew up in West Torrance and has lived in almost all of the South Bay cities over her lifetime. Mercedes became a Real Estate Agent 16 years ago when her second child was born with disabilities and she needed more flexibility with her work schedule. She had always wanted to be a Real Estate Agent after watching what owning real estate can do for a family. She grew up in a household that would be considered lower-middle-class, with parents who scraped, borrowed, and even lied on their loan application to buy their first single-family home in Torrance to raise their 5 children. After building significant equity in that home, her parents refinanced, pulled money out and bought an investment property in Lawndale. Over the course of their lives, Mercedes' parents bought several investment properties and retired with a very nice lifestyle! Mercedes always says, "real estate changes your financial future, I’ve seen it happen time and time again with my own eyes!”
